What are Typical Web Design Elements?
There are some typical web design elements that are common on most business websites that people have come to expect. Most sites have a Home page, product and or services page, Company Info page, and Contact Us page.
Home Page: A home page is simpler to a book cover and table of contents. A book cover is usually what catches your eye and makes you to want to explore the pages. It should make an impact and be relevant to the image your company represents. The menu (table of contest) should be easy to understand and provide enough information to make you want to continue to explore the content on the site.
Products or Services Page: This is where you will need to plan out a self-explanatory menu and page structure so people can easily navigate your products or services. If you have several products it may be easer to use a content management system (CMS) like Joomla, WordPress or Drupal. A CMS allows you to load content into a database making it easier to manage and grow as your business grows.
Company Info: Every business website should provide a company information page. This is where you get to tell your story and differentiate yourself from your competition.
Contact Us: This is where you will list out the different ways your customer can get in touch with you. At a minimum you will list out your companies phone, fax, e-mail, and if you your company has a physical location you can place a map along with directions on how to get to your location.
Once you have created the web design elements mentioned above have a person you trust navigate the menu system on your website and check for content errors.
